My experience as Vice President from 2023 to present, and Unit 1 Vice Chairperson from 2020-2023 gives me a unique experience to bring to the Unit 1 Chairperson role.

I have an extensive history of advocating for and supporting the members - as a representative on the JHSC, as a steward, as Unit 1 Vice Chairperson, as Vice President, and as a representative on various committees and boards (including Pension Trust).

I have been a delegate for ETOP (Education, Technical, Office Professionals), ORC (Ontario Regional Council), Canadian Council, and Constitutional Convention - all opportunities to represent our members and advocate for their best interests.

As VP I support members in Unit 1 with Job Description (JD) re-evaluations, participate in bargaining for all units, send the communications to our members, back up the Unit Chairpersons and the President as needed. As Unit 1 Vice Chairperson I supported members in a variety of situations - including layoff meetings, investigations, performance meetings, accommodation meetings, interpersonal and/or workplace conflicts, as well as ensured the University was following the processes within the CBA for things such as probation, offer letters, recruitment. I provided guidance and support when members had questions or concerns about the Collective Agreement, and was on the bargaining team for the last round of bargaining for Unit 1.

I am a strong and vocal advocate for our members, and believe in social justice for all.
